Mr Griffin's Gardens is Jo Griffin — a career changer who trained properly, worked in some of the best gardens in England, and now looks after ordinary gardens across North West London.
Jo Griffin came to gardening later than most. Before this, he worked for the Police and the Fire Brigade, and spent four years in the television industry. In time he realised he wanted to work outdoors, in a trade that was active and always changing — so he decided to change career and do it properly.
He enrolled at Capel Manor College in Enfield to study for a Level 3 in horticulture. Five years later he had a recognised qualification and real experience behind him, having worked in some of the best gardens in England.
That experience includes the National Trust at Ascot House in Bedfordshire, the world-famous Regent's Park, and the landscaping firm Nurture Landscapes, where he was based at a high-end business park in Chiswick. It's the kind of grounding you don't get from picking up a strimmer — and it's what he now brings to gardens across North West London.
Today Mr Griffin's Gardens is a friendly, honest, personal service. Jo looks after every garden himself, so the person who quotes your garden is the person who cares for it, week after week.
